Hall of Fame Spotlight: John Hill

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College Department of Athletics is pleased to celebrate its Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees with a weekly spotlight.  Today, Kentucky Wesleyan recognizes John Hill.

A member of the class of 1986, Hill played both baseball and football at Kentucky Wesleyan.  With the baseball team, Hill was a 1986 All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selection and led the Panthers to a 1986 GLVC South Division Championship and the program's first 30-win season.  During the 1984 season, the Panthers were runner-up in the GLVC tournament.

Hill still is the career record holder in home runs (33), runs scored (127), runs batted in (141) and slugging percentage (.700).  He held the career batting average record for over 30 years at .401.

Hill was a four-year starter with the football team and currently ranks eighth in extra point attempts at 20.

The 10-member Class of 2017 was announced in July and can be viewed by clicking here.

The Induction Ceremony will take place during Homecoming Weekend on Friday, October 6, 2017.  The ceremony, presented by Kentucky Legend ™, will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center on Friday evening.  Register for the event by visiting www.kwc.edu/homecoming.
