OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College Department of Athletics is pleased to celebrate its Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees with a weekly spotlight.  Today, Kentucky Wesleyan recognizes Barbara Johnson.

Johnson was the head coach of the women's tennis team from 1979-1983 and is the only coach in the history of Kentucky Wesleyan to have an undefeated season, going 10-0 in 1980.  During her five seasons at the helm, Johnson brought home 31 match victories.

During the 1980 and 1981 seasons, Johnson was named the Kentucky State Tennis Coach of the Year.  She guided the Panthers to two Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) Regional Tournaments including a third place finish in 1981.  During the 1981 season, the Panthers reached the AIAW National Tournament, finishing 19th in the nation.

The Induction Ceremony will take place during Homecoming Weekend on Friday, October 6, 2017.  The ceremony, presented by Kentucky Legend ™, will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center on Friday evening.  Register for the event by visiting www.kwc.edu/homecoming.
