Hall of Fame Spotlight: Jenny Boyd

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College Department of Athletics is pleased to celebrate its Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees with a weekly spotlight.  Today, Kentucky Wesleyan recognizes Jenny Boyd.

A member of the class of 1995, Boyd played both volleyball and basketball at Kentucky Wesleyan and was a four-year starter for both teams.  Boyd was a part of the 1991-92 women's basketball team that still owns the best record in program history at 21-7.  She was a three-time Academic All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selection in addition to earning GLVC Newcomer of the Year her freshman season and an All-GLVC Honorable mention as a junior.  Boyd still holds the career rebounding record at 807 and is eighth in career steals with 152.

On the volleyball court, Boyd was the captain of the 1994 squad that was the only team in program history to make the GLVC post season tournament.  In 1995 she was named the 1995 GLVC Female Student-Athlete of the Year and it the first player in program history to earn four Academic All-GLVC honors.  Boyd still holds three records in the volleyball records books with 1,116 career kills, 523 career blocks and 358 blocks solo.  She also is fifth in digs at 1,037.

The 10-member Class of 2017 was announced in July and can be viewed by clicking here.
