OWENSBORO, Ky. – Below is your preview of Wesleyan Athletics for the week of March 16-22.
Softball
The Kentucky Wesleyan softball team is set to begin G-MAC play this weekend with two doubleheaders in Ohio. The Panthers will take on Malone on Saturday and Ashland on Sunday. Each doubleheader will begin at 11:00 AM and be streamed live on FloCollege.
Seniors Chloe Apple and Kennedy Matheis have led the effort for Wesleyan thus far this season. Apple is batting .341 with four doubles, seven RBIs, and 10 walks, and Matheis is batting .319 with five doubles, two home runs, 12 RBIs, and six walks.
Baseball
The Kentucky Wesleyan baseball team is headed to Findlay, Ohio, to battle the Oilers in their first G-MAC road series of 2026. The Panthers will play a doubleheader at 12:00 PM on each of Saturday and Sunday live on FloCollege.
The Panthers are coming off a series split with G-MAC preseason favorite Northwood. Liam Hutson continued his stellar season by going 7-15 with three home runs, five RBIs, and four runs scored over those four games. The highlight of the series came on Jacob Riegel's walk-off two-run home run to win game three, his second homer of that game.
Tennis
Both the Kentucky Wesleyan women's tennis team and the Kentucky Wesleyan men's tennis team open G-MAC this weekend on the road. The women's tennis team has two matches, against Ursuline on Saturday at 5:00 PM and versus Walsh on Sunday at 3:00 PM, and the men's tennis team has just one match: Sunday versus Walsh also at 3:00 PM.
Both teams, behind first-year head coach Teddy Morse, have made impressive strides from last season to this season with many newcomers in the fold making a positive impact. The Panthers will look to keep building the right way as conference play gets going.
