OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan women's tennis team was defeated by the final score of 4-3 on Sunday at Moreland Park.
Wesleyan grabbed the momentum early by winning the doubles point to take a 1-0 advantage. Kameron Knight and Ella Brown teamed up for a 6-4 victory on Court 1 and Anna Bongardt and Angela Ho put together a 6-2 triumph on Court 2 to clinch the point.
Both Knight on Court 1 and Bongardt on Court 2 dominated their singles matches, winning 6-1, 6-1, and 6-2, 6-2, respectively.
The Grizzlies, with the Panthers needing to find just one more singles win, prevailed on the remaining four singles courts in just two sets each to steal the 4-3 victory.
Wesleyan has some time off from match play before heading to Pepper Pike, Ohio, to take on Ursuline on Saturday, March 21st.
