Owensboro, Ky. – Haakon Torvbraaten has been named the G-MAC Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for his play across two G-MAC matches last Thursday and Saturday.
In the first of those matches, at Malone on October 2nd, the senior helped open the scoring with an assist on Hamish Strong's goal before netting his own score on a penalty kick in the eventual 3-0 victory.
The Asker, Norway, native followed that performance up by netting another penalty kick goal in the 2-2 draw against Ohio Dominican on October 4th, bringing his point total on the week to five.
Altogether this season, the captain has two goals, three assists, and seven points while being 2-3 on penalty kick opportunities.
Torvbraaten has led the way for the Panthers' recent surge, as Wesleyan is 3-0-1 in their last four matches.
The Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer team next returns to Panther Field for a Thursday night matchup versus Lake Erie on October 9th. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM and the match will be streamed live on FloCollege.
