North Canton, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer team continued rolling with a 2-1 triumph over Walsh Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers (5-2-6, 5-2-2 G-MAC) are now 5-0-2 over their last seven matches.
After a scoreless first half in which Wesleyan did a strong job not even letting the Cavaliers (2-9-3, 1-6-3 G-MAC) have opportunities at the net, Mattie McNally broke the scoring open with his fifth goal of the season in the 49th minute to put the Panthers up 1-0.
Later, with under six minutes left in the match, Walsh managed to tie the game with an 84th-minute score.
The match came down to the absolute wire, but the Panthers were able to earn the deciding goal. Haakon Torbraaten delivered a smooth assist to Jhaeem Bryan for a goal with just 38 seconds left, finalizing the 2-1 victory.
On top of the goals from McNally and Bryan, each of Jersey Lopez, Cal Nolan, Braeden Myers-Curry, and Cole Greenshields logged shots, with the former three's being shots on goal.
Iver Sjavag played all 90 minutes in the net and maintained his strong play, allowing just the one goal.
The Panthers now head back home for a matchup against Findlay on Thursday, October 23. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM and the match will be streamed live on FloCollege.
