OWENSBORO, KY. –
Brandon Crawford, Head Wrestling Coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College, has been appointed to serve on the NCAA Division II Wrestling National Committee. Crawford's four-year term officially started in September 2024 and will continue through the National Championships in 2027-28. Crawford will be the chief representative from Super Region IV and joins Findlay's Shawn Nelson who represents Super Region III.
"I am honored and excited to be selected as a part of the Division II National Wrestling Committee," said Coach
Brandon Crawford. "I have always wanted to have an opportunity to give back to this great sport that has done so much for me, and what better way to do that than as a part of this committee. I look forward to helping drive the sport forward, especially with the ever-changing dynamics of collegiate sports in today's world."
Crawford is one of three Kentucky Wesleyan staffers to serve on National Sport Committees, joining Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Mark Shook (baseball) and Ken Badylak (men's basketball).
Crawford became the third wrestling coach in Wesleyan history in the Fall of 2022. In that time, he has stabilized the Panthers' roster as well as helped furnish a dedicated space for the wrestling program. In addition, Crawford helped with renovating a locker-room inside the Woodward Health and Recreation Center for the wrestling team.
A native of Hope Mills, NC, Crawford spent just under 13 years in the United States Army, where he earned a Combat Infantry Badge, Army Parachutist Wings, The Expert Infantrymen Badge and several other achievements and certifications, such as Level 2 Army Combatives. Crawford is a USA Wrestling member who is both copper and bronze coaching certified. He is also a member of the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).
