INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers have landed eight players on the 2022 G-MAC All-Conference Team.
Jalen Humphrey was named to the first team,
Ramond Jackson and
Brennen McGuire to the second team, and
David Florence,
Christian Ealey,
Jaden Santos-Lopez,
Damario Foster, and
Landon Newman to the third team.
Jalen Humphrey - First Team
One of the most storied players in Kentucky Wesleyan history,
Jalen Humphrey finishes his career by being named to the All G-MAC First Team. It was well deserved, as he led the conference in tackles (104) and tackles/game (9.5). He finished the season ranked 18th in the DII for total tackles and also added seven TFL, 1.5 sacks, 4 QB hurries, and one fumble recovery to his resume. In addition to the single season accolades, the Huntsville, Alabama native closed out his career with 377 total tackles, breaking both the Kentucky Wesleyan and G-MAC records.Â
Ramond Jackson - Second Team
Jackson, a senior from Lexington, Kentucky, finished second on the team with 58 tackles, and led the Panthers with six pass breakups and three interceptions. He was fourth in the G-MAC in interceptions and was named the G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week after notched seven tackles, two interceptions, two pass breakups, one QB hurry, and 0.5 TFL in a Homecoming night victory over Hillsdale.
Brennen McGuire - Second Team
After seeing a lot of time last year, McGuire broke out into stardom this season. The speedster from Danville, Kentucky, led the Panthers with 697 receiving yards, and was second with 46 receptions and four touchdowns. He averaged an impressive 15.2 yards/catch, and his 178 receiving yards against Lake Erie early in the season was the fifth most in the G-MAC for a single game this year.
David Florence - Third Team
A name that many Panther fans will remember for a long time, Florence closed out his historic career with yet another incredible season. The pride of Jeffersonville, Indiana, #3 led the Panthers in total receptions (52) and receiving touchdowns (6), and was second on the team in total receiving yards (671). His 52 receptions and six touchdowns each ranked sixth in the G-MAC, while his 671 receiving yards ranked eighth. He finishes his career ranked in the Wesleyan top ten for receptions (149), receiving yards (1,779), and receiving touchdowns (15).
Christian Ealey - Third Team
Ealey, a second year transfer from Kentucky Christian, was named to the G-MAC Third Team for the second straight year. The 6-5 senior from Charlotte, North Carolina helped
Landon Newman and Jatorion Dillard rush for the fourth most yards by a duo in the G-MAC this season.Â
Jaden Santos-Lopez - Third Team
The junior from Tampa, Florida led the Panthers with 7.5 TFL and five sacks on the season. He was fourth on the team in total tackles (51) and also added five QB hurries and one pass breakup to his resume. He ranked 11th in the G-MAC in sacks and in the top-25 for TFL.
Damario Foster - Third Team
After recording just six total tackles during his freshman season, Foster broke out this year, going off for 46 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, three QB hurries, and one pass breakup. Always ready to lend a helping hand, the Covington, Kentucky native was second on the team and 11th in the G-MAC in total assisted tackles (30).
Landon Newman - Third Team
After missing the 2021 season due to injury, Newman came back strong in 2022, leading the Panthers in both rushing yards (413) and rushing touchdowns (2). He averaged 41.3 yards/game and only lost seven yards all season. The Daviess County graduate was 10th in the G-MAC in total rushing yards, and his 5.1 yards/cary were ranked ninth.Â
