KWC Football Unveils 2026 Season Schedule

The Panthers will host five games at Steele Stadium

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Head coach Tyrone Young and the Kentucky Wesleyan football program have unveiled their schedule for the upcoming 2026 campaign.

The Panthers will begin the season on the road against Kentucky Christian, the alma mater of Coach Young, on August 27th.

"It means the world to go back home to Grayson, Kentucky, and play against the program that I helped build from the ground up," Young said. "Being on the inaugural football team at KCU, this one holds a special meaning. This will be my first time back on campus in a football related manner in almost 15 years, so it will be extremely special to run out on that field."

Wesleyan will then enjoy their bye week before playing their first game at Steele Stadium in 2026. KWC will take on William Jewell in a night game on September 12th to open the home slate.

The Panthers will next turn their attention to their nine-game conference schedule. Three of Wesleyan's first four G-MAC games will be at home: Findlay on September 19th, Tiffin on September 26th, and Lake Erie on October 10th. Their lone road game during that stretch will be in Midland, Michigan, against Northwood on October 3rd.

To offset that front-loaded home schedule, four of KWC's final five games of the season will be away from Owensboro. The Panthers will take a road trip for contests versus Ohio Dominican on October 17th and Ashland on October 24th before coming home for Senior Day against Hillsdale on Halloween.

Wesleyan will close the regular season with two more road games. The Panthers are set to take on Walsh on November 7th before heading to Crestview Hills, Kentucky, for their in-state rivalry battle versus Thomas More on November 14th.

No matter where the Panthers are playing, Coach Young knows the team must be prepared going into each outing in the Great Midwest.

"It's the G-MAC. Home or away, you have to be ready," Young said. "I love getting to play at Steele Stadium, so getting to do that in the warm weather I'm sure will produce great attendance from our fan base as usual."

Headed into his fifth season at the helm of Kentucky Wesleyan football, Coach Young and his staff are excited to write another chapter in the history books.

"It's already been 5 years? Time flies when you love what you do," Young said. "To our fans, get your season tickets now. The 2026 football team will be one that prides itself in being about action and not words. See you in August! DIG IN!"
