OWENSBORO, Ky. – Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer student-athletes Jersey Lopez and Matteo Graniero have been named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Players of the Week after their respective performances over the past week. Lopez was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Graniero was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Lopez was instrumental for the Panthers in their 6-0 and 1-0 wins over Malone and Ohio Dominican, respectively. The junior from Wolverhampton, England, had a goal and assist in 82 minutes played in the massive win over the Pioneers. He followed that performance with the deciding goal on Saturday against Ohio Dominican, giving the Panthers back-to-back wins on the week.

Graniero earned back-to-back shutouts against Malone and Ohio Dominican to earn his first career G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week award. The Palgrave, Ontario, Canada native made five saves on seven shots to preserve the 6-0 win on Thursday while making one crucial save against Ohio Dominican to earn his fourth win of the season in goal.

Graniero, Lopez and the Panthers shift their attention to the road as they travel to Malone on Thursday, October 1st. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT.
