Owensboro, Ky. – Haakon Torvbraaten has been named the Great Midwest Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week after his two-assist performance in the Panthers G-MAC Quarterfinals victory over Lake Erie last Saturday.
It's the second Athlete of the Week recognition for the Norway native this season. Teammates Jhaeem Bryan and Jersey Lopez both earned Athlete of the Week recognition earlier in the campaign for a total of four for the program in 2025.
The Panthers' head captain helped send Wesleyan to their second consecutive G-MAC Semifinals appearance, assisting on both goals in the 2-0 triumph over the Storm.
Torvbraaten first delivered a perfect corner kick to set up Elias Jonsson for a header score that put Wesleyan up 1-0 in the first half. He followed that by setting up Cameron Bell for the Panthers' second goal of the game that put the match away in the 85th minute.
On the season, the senior has logged four goals and eight assists for a total of 16 points while playing over 1600 minutes and starting all 19 games.
Wesleyan next heads to Tiffin, Ohio, for the Great Midwest Men's Soccer tournament semifinals against Cedarville on Thursday, November 13. Kickoff is set for 10:00 AM and the match will be streamed live on FloCollege.
