Owensboro, Ky. – Jersey Lopez has been named the Great Midwest Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for his performance against Northwood on Saturday.
In that 4-2 victory over the Timberwolves, Lopez scored two goals and delivered an assist to help Wesleyan to their seventh win in their last nine matches.
With the other two of those nine matches being draws, the Panthers' current nine-match unbeaten streak is the longest in school history.
On the season, the sophomore from Wolverhampton, England, has racked up three goals and six assists for a team-high of 12 points.
Wesleyan presently sits third in the G-MAC, just three points behind Tiffin and four behind first-place Cedarville.
Lopez and the Panthers now shift their focus to a midweek matchup against those Yellow Jackets, who are currently ranked 9th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25, in what is shaping up to be one of the biggest matches in program history.
