Kentucky Wesleyan Football releases 2024 Schedule

OWENSBORO, KY - The third year of the Tyrone Young era is on the horizon, as the Kentucky Wesleyan Football Team has released their 2024 schedule. This fall's schedule features 11 contests, with six games taking place at Steele Stadium. The six home games are the most for the Panthers since the 2019 season.

"The opportunity that the 2024 season brings is an exciting one," said Coach Young. "Last season we took steps in the right direction, and this season we are planning on exceeding expectations. The G-MAC has turned into one of the best DII conference in the country with some of the best football players and coaches in the Midwest. We look forward to opening the season at home back-to-back weeks, something we haven't done in my time being here."

As young stated, his Panthers open up the season with back-to-back home non-conference contests, taking on Northern Michigan and William Jewell. This is the first time Wesleyan will ever face off against NMU, and the fourth straight year they will take on William Jewell. The Panthers conference opener will take place on Saturday, September 21, at Walsh, while their first home conference contest will be on Saturday, October 5, versus the University of Findlay.

On Saturday, October 26th, the Panthers will look to get their fourth straight Homecoming victory when they take on Hillsdale College at noon. Senior Day will be the following Saturday against reigning G-MAC champion Tiffin.

This is the year Coach Young and his Panthers can make a big jump, as he already doubled his win total from his first year to his second. The first four teams on the schedule, NMU, WJC, WU, and ODU, had a combined record of 9-34 last season, so Wesleyan has a chance to get out to a great start to the season. With over 65 newcomers to go along with plenty of experienced veterans, this Panther squad could make noise not just in the G-MAC, but nationally as well.

"Playing in front of our home crowd is EXTREMELY special, and we look forward to seeing everyone pack Steele Stadium this fall!"
