OWENSBORO, KY - In just the first week since he was officially named the head coach of Kentucky Wesleyan football, Tyrone Young has named his coordinators for the upcoming 2022 season.

Brandon Frase - Defensive Coordinator: Frase joined Kentucky Wesleyan in January of 2020 as the defensive backs coach/co-special teams coordinator and has been a big contributor into helping re-shape the Panther's defense. Last season Kentucky Wesleyan's defense finished second in the G-MAC in interceptions (14) and had five individuals named to All-Conference teams. Star defensive back KiShawn Walker led the nation in pass breakups and was named to four All-American teams, a first for Kentucky Wesleyan.

Alfonzo Browning - Offensive Coordinator: Browning joined the KWC coaching staff in January of 2019 as the wide receivers coach/pass game coordinator. In his two years working with the offense, Browning has coached eight All-Conference players, including Spring 2021 Elite 23 winner Wiley Cain. Browning will have a lot of talent to work with next season as the Panthers return many key pieces from an offense that finished second in the G-MAC in passing yards/game (255.5). 

Matthew Amburgey - Special Teams Coordinator: Coach Amburgey joined the Kentucky Wesleyan coaching staff in the summer of 2019 as the team's running backs coach. Most recently he was the running backs coach as well as the co-special teams coordinator. During his three years at Kentucky Wesleyan Amburgey has coached many outstanding athletes and has implemented a community outreach program for the football team that involved volunteering at local organizations. With a good portion of the line coming back, as well as returning kickers and punters, Amburgey is set up to have a great 2022 campaign. 

Glen Rowell - Recruiting Coordinator: Rowell joined the KWC football staff in the summer of 2019 as the defensive line coach. Since his time began at Wesleyan Rowell has coached two G-MAC All-Academic team members as well as Dalan Cofer, who was named Third Team All-G-MAC in Fall 2021 and ranks second all-time in sacks at Kentucky Wesleyan. Rowell had a big part in helping sign a record 33 athletes to the 2022 recruiting class.
