TERRE HAUTE, IN - Competing against five DI schools and one JUCO, the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers Women's Track & Field team finished fourth out of seven teams on Saturday. KWC finished with a total of 31 points, three above IUPUI and four above Ohio River rival Evansville. Indiana State won the meet with a total of 176 points.
Jenna Burns managed to take home the lone first place finish for the Panthers, winning the 400 meters with an outstanding time of 1:01.23.
Karyn Williams took home third place in the triple jump, finishing with a leap of 11.05m (36-03.00).
Shannon Ruble finished strong to run a time of 11:26.23 in the 3000m and take fifth.
Cambria Vincent managed to nab a point in the shot put with a throw of 9.46m (31-00.50). Although not gaining a point,
Abigail Lesniak's time of 5:34.14 in the mile put her 10th in an extremely competitive field. The 4x400 team consisting of
Jenna Burns,
Sarah Vanderhoof,
Karyn Williams and
Kate Keller ran a time of 4:23.77 to take third.Â
The Panthers will now gear up for the G-MAC Indoor Championships next weekend. The meet will take place at Findlay University on Friday, Feb. 25-26.
