OWENSBORO, KY - Following his stellar final season in a Panther uniform, senior
KiShawn Walker has been named to the D2CCA Super Region 1 First Team. This comes after he was named to the G-MAC All-Conference First Team.
"Kishawn has been a tremendous addition to our program," said Head Coach
Craig Yeast. "He is a generational talent that has not gone unnoticed. He has not only been a great player, he has also been a tremendous leader for us. We are extremely proud of KiShawn and his many accomplishments, and pray for many more to come his way. He certainly deserves them."
Walker is one of just two DB's to make the first team. Walker was dominant on the defensive side of the ball this year, tallying five interceptions, one pick-six, and a nation leading 17 pass breakups. To go along with his pass defense, he notched 39 total tackles and both forced and recovered a fumble this season.Â
Defensive Backs Coach
Brandon Frase states that "KiShawn is a generational talent that every coach wants to be apart of their room. He has been successful in everything he has done both on and off the field, and his achievements at KWC have helped lay the foundation for future DB's to live by. His hard work, consistency, and natural skill set allowed him to become the player he is today."
Walker isn't done just yet, as he was selected to play in the College Gridiron Showcase held in Fort Worth, Texas on January 8-12 2022.Â
