KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
Madisyn Hunt of the Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team has earned another post-season accolade. Hunt was named First Team All-Region as announced by the United Soccer Coaches on Monday.
Hunt most recently received Google Cloud Academic All- American honors by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) last week. In addition, she has previously earned Great Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year as well as First Team All-Conference. The junior was also named First Team All-Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) in late November.
This season Hunt set the Wesleyan record for goals scored in a career. In 2019 she totaled 22 goals in 18 matches, a total that ranks second all-time in G-MAC history. Hunt also ranks third all-time in G-MAC history with 43 career goals.
Hunt finished the regular season second in the nation with 22 goals scored. In addition, she led the G-MAC in nearly every offensive statistical category, shots (98), assists (7), and points (51). She ranks second in shots on goal and fifth in game-winning goals. This season Hunt tallied four game-winners including two straight games against Alderson Broaddus and Oakland City.
The Panthers finished the season 8-10 with a 5-8 mark in Great Midwest action. Wesleyan qualified for the Great Midwest Championship Tournament, but fell in heartbreaking fashion to Walsh 1-0 in the Quarterfinals.
The teams are selected through voting by member coaches in those respective divisions. Student-athletes earning First Team All-Region honors are now eligible to earn All-America status.
The All-America Teams for NCAA Division II will be announced on Wednesday evening, Dec. 11, while the NCAA Division I Men's All-America Team will be announced on Thursday evening, Dec. 12 in conjunction with their respective pre-championship banquets.
