Hunt Named CoSIDA Academic All-America

AUSTIN, Texas - Madisyn Hunt of the Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team has been named to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Third Team as announced by CoSIDA on Wednesday.  The Academic All-America® program, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

This marks the program's second ever Academic All-America® selection and first since 2013 when Paige Kramer earned First-Team honors.  Hunt is the only student-athlete from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference to earn the honor this year.

The junior tallied 22 goals in 18 matches for the Panthers this season, a total that ranks second all-time in the G-MAC.  Hunt also ranks third all-time in the G-MAC with 43 career goals while taking over the Wesleyan career goals leader as well.

Hunt carries a 3.74 grade point average in Forensic Psychology while finishing the regular season second in the nation in goals.  The Jasper, Ind. native led the G-MAC in nearly every offensive category including shot (98), assists (7), and points (51).  She also ranks fifth in game-winning goals.

The Panthers finished the regular season at 8-10 with a 5-8 mark in the conference play.  Wesleyan qualified for the Great Midwest Championship tournament for the sixth time in seven seasons.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division II Academic All-America® program.
