Madisyn Hunt Achieves All-American Status

ADA, OklahomaMadisyn Hunt of the Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team has been spoiled this holiday season as she earned another post-season award on Wednesday. Hunt is now a dual All-American after the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) announced their All-American Teams. The junior forward earned Third Team honors on the annual D2CCA list. She also is lone representative from the Great Midwest Athletic (G-MAC) on the All-American Team. Previously, Hunt was named Google Cloud Academic All-American last week by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Hunt most recently received First Team All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches earlier this week. In addition, she has previously earned Great Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year as well as First Team All-Conference. The junior was also named First Team All-Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) in late November.

This season Hunt set the Wesleyan record for goals scored in a career. In 2019 she totaled 22 goals in 18 matches, a total that ranks second all-time in G-MAC history. Hunt also ranks third all-time in G-MAC history with 43 career goals.

Hunt finished the regular season second in the nation with 22 goals scored. In addition, she led the G-MAC in nearly every offensive statistical category, shots (98), assists (7), and points (51). She ranks second in shots on goal and fifth in game-winning goals. This season Hunt tallied four game-winners including two straight games against Alderson Broaddus and Oakland City.

The Panthers finished the season 8-10 with a 5-8 mark in Great Midwest action. Wesleyan qualified for the Great Midwest Championship Tournament, but fell in heartbreaking fashion to Walsh 1-0 in the Quarterfinals.

Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences selected the three D2CCA All-America teams. The process begins at the regional level with all first-team all-region picks advancing to the national ballot. A total of 39 student-athletes representing 22 different institutions filled out the three teams.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
