INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College football team brought home six Great Midwest All-Conference selections as announced by the league office on Friday. Dalan Cofer, Jalen Humphrey, Moe Carter, Ramond Jackson, Wiley Cain and Kairus Washington were each named to the Honorable Mention Team.
Defensive lineman Dalan Cofer paced the Panthers with 4.5 sacks on the year, accumulating 30-yards for loss. The junior recorded 41 tackles on the year including seven for loss. Cofer also recorded one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in the season finale against Alderson Broaddus.
Linebacker Jalen Humphrey led the defense with 81 tackles on the year, 41 of which were solo. The Huntsville, Ala. native recorded seven tackles for loss, two sacks and three pass break ups. Humphrey tallied a season-high 10 solo tackles at Walsh in week nine.
Defensive back Moe Carter racked up 50 tackles on the year including a season-best 10 at Findlay including nine solo. The senior picked off three passes including two against Tiffin. Carter finished his career with 128 total tackles and 18 pass break ups.
Defensive back Ramond Jackson finished the year with 60 tackles and a team-high 10 pass break ups. The freshman had a season-best eight tackles in week one against Concordia. Jackson recorded six solo tackles in week eight at Hillsdale.
Quarterback Wiley Cain threw for 2,306-yards on the season, averaging just under 210-yards per game. The Eubank, Ky. native recorded 11 touchdown passes on the year including three in week four against Lake Erie.
Offensive lineman Kairus Washington anchored an offense that averaged 322.5-yards per game. The sophomore started in all 11 games for the Panthers, helping the offense to 1,292-yards rushing on the season.
