INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –
Lucas Daunhauer of the Kentucky Wesleyan College men's soccer team has earned All-Great Midwest Conference honors, as announced the by the league office on Wednesday. Daunhauer is the lone Panthers' representative on the annual list as he earned an Honorable Mention.
Daunhauer started every match this season for Wesleyan and finished with 118 saves, a total that ties the Great Midwest all-time single season record. Darragh McGinley from Urbana also saved 118 shots in 2012. The sophomore keeper is one of two players in G-MAC history to have over 100 saves in a single-season. Daunhauer also ranks as the national leader in total saves this season.
Overall the Panthers and Daunhauer produced a 4-12-1 record with one shut-out to his credit. Daunhauer made 10 saves in a 3-0 victory at Oakland City in September.
For his career Daunhauer has made 213 saves and trails
Grant Allen's lead in that category by 92. This honor comes as the second consecutive selection to the All-GMAC Honorable Mention Team.
