Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer battled visiting Maryville to a 2-2 tie in double overtime on Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers scored first with #Gary McMeekin#'s penalty kick at the 31:54 mark. #Haris Dzaferbegovic# followed on an assist from Jamie MacGregor at 38:55, to send KWC to a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Maryville bounced back to score two quick goals within three minutes late in the second half to tie the score at the 83:32 and 86:41 marks. Both teams had opportunities in both overtime periods but could not connect.
Panther goalie #Ryan Samuels# collected 11 saves. KWC (2-12-1, 0-12-1 GLVC) recorded 12 shots to Maryville's (1-11-1, 1-10-1) 13.
Prior to the contest, the College honored the three seniors – #Dustin Davis#, #Mitch Jones# and Samuels.
KWC will play at GLVC rival Southern Indiana on Sunday, Sept. 24, at Noon.
