OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan men's tennis team continued their recent strong play with a 5-2 victory over Franklin Sunday at Moreland Park.
To open the match in doubles, Jose Ferrandis and Caleb Stovall teamed up for a 6-2 triumph on Court 2 and Adryan Taylor and Kade Eber partnered for a 6-1 win on Court 3 to claim the point for KWC.
Jose Ferrandis put on a clinic on Court 1 in singles, winning 6-0, 6-0 to put the Panthers up 2-0.
Marcos Tiferes (6-2, 6-2 on Court 3), Max Jody (6-2, 6-0 on Court 5), and Miguel Perlaza (6-2, 6-2 on Court 6) each also had impressive wins not long after Ferrandis to lock down the match for Wesleyan.
Franklin managed to prevail on Courts 2 and 4, but that would not be enough for the Grizzlies as the Panthers came out on top at 5-2.
KWC is next set to travel to North Canton, Ohio, to begin G-MAC play versus the Walsh Cavaliers on Sunday, March 22nd.
