Big Rapids, Mich. – The Kentucky Wesleyan women's golf team finished 13^th at the Bulldog Fall Classic, highlighted by a 23-stroke improvement from day one to day two.

The Panthers shot 61-over (349) on day one and 38-over (326) on day two for a total team score of 99-over (675).

Freshman Lucia Perez led the way for Wesleyan, slotting in at T-21^st out of 83 student-athletes with a final score of 13-over, including an impressive day two score of one-over.

Sophomores Autumn Osborne and Ansley Adams finished 63^rd and T-67^th with scores of 27-over and 31-over, respectively.

Freshman AnnaMae Atcher and senior Avery Shacklette rounded out the Panthers' effort. Atcher came in 75^th with a total score of 36-over after a ten-stroke improvement from day one to day two, and Shacklette wasn't far behind in 78^th with a total score of 40-over after a 14-stroke improvement from day one to day two.

"We were happy today. We played the course 23 shots better. Lucia posted the best round in the last decade of the program to move up 33 spots," head coach Ken Badylak said.

"This was a big step for our players. We are limiting mistakes and seeing that we can post competitive scores," Badylak continued. "Lucia played a great round of golf for us. She made five birdies today. She played aggressively when she needed to and smart when it was important. Our hope is to roll this into a good tournament next week at our home course."

The Panthers are next in action October 5-6 as hosts of the Bill Crabtree Invitational at their aforementioned home course, The Pearl Club.
