ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Kentucky Wesleyan women's golf team finalized their regular season amongst a loaded field at the USML Spring Invitational.
The field included five ranked teams: #11 North Georgia, #17 Grand Valley State, #19 Indianapolis, #33 Missouri St. Louis, and #37 Ferris State.
The Panthers finished 15th among the 17 squads with a total score of 1008. Wesleyan improved consistently, shooting 339-337-332 across the three rounds.
Ansley Adams was the leader in the clubhouse for KWC with a tally of 33-over to finish 58th in the 94-player field.
Autumn Osborne was not far behind, tying for 62nd with a score of 36-over, and she shined in the final round with a tournament-best eight-over tally. AnnaMae Atcher was right on her tail in T-65th after posting a score of 39-over, including a tournament-best nine-over tally in the final round.
Javen Campbell and Avery Shacklette rounded out the Panthers effort, both tying for 85th with scores of 54-over. Campbell shot 12-over in the second round and Shacklette was impressively consistent throughout.
17th-ranked Grand Valley State took home the team title with a combined tally of 23-over, winning by seven strokes. GVSU's Heida Rakel Rafnsdottir won the individual title by one stroke with a score of one-under, fending off several ranked student-athletes below her.
The Panthers now turn their attention to the Great Midwest Championship at Belterra Golf Resort in Florence, Indiana. Wesleyan will compete against the G-MAC's best from April 16-17.
