St. Louis, Mo. – The Kentucky Wesleyan women's golf team completed their regular season at the UMSL Spring Invitational from April 13-14.
The Panthers finished 18th among the team results, putting together three consistent rounds (347-338-340) when factoring in the high winds on the first day.
Avery Shacklette led the way for the Panthers, posting the best 54-round score of her career with a 251 (+38, 86-82-83).
Samantha DeSpain came in not far behind her with a 255 (+42, 85-83-87) and Megan Bryan tallied a 260 (+47, 88-87-85).
Rounding out the Wesleyan effort was Ansley Adams with a 263 (+50, 88-90-85) and Javen Campbell with a 267 (+54, 93-86-88).
No. 20 Missouri St. Louis won the event by a whopping 29 strokes on their home course.
Lisa Marie Schumacher, ranked No. 6, triumphed individually by two strokes.
The Panthers now look toward the Great Midwest Championship at Belterra Resort from April 24-25 in Florence, Indiana.
