Team Effort Guides Panthers to Sixth at Music City Invitational

Old Hickory, Tenn. – The Kentucky Wesleyan men's golf team put on a strong showing on their way to finishing tied for sixth among the 17-team field at the Music City Invitational from March 30 – April 1.

The Panthers turned in a score of +15 (855, 287-281-287) across the three rounds.

Jonah Graham was at the forefront of the Wesleyan effort, posting a score of +2 (212, 69-74-69) that included two rounds under-par to come in T-17th in the 92-player field.

Both Thomas Scott and Evan Beery finished T-26th. Scott had two under-par rounds to begin the tournament, posting an overall score of +4 (214, 69-68-77), and Beery showed impressive consistency with his own score of +4 (214, 71-72-71).  

Braydon Bond and Evan Schumacher completed the Panthers trip, with the former tallying a score of +11 (221, 78-72-71) to come in T-54th and the latter turning in a score of +14 (224, 79-69-76) to finish T-67th.

"It was great to see our guys play with the leaders today," head coach Ken Badylak said. "We have been waiting to put three rounds together and we were as close this week as ever. Hopefully this trend continues [the rest of the season]."

Union (TN) ran away with the team title, posting a score of 10-under par to win by 16 strokes.

Hillsdale's Filippo Reale took home individual honors by one stroke with a score of -7.

The Panthers next head to the Ken Partridge Invitational, hosted by the University of Indianapolis in Noblesville, Indiana from April 6-8. a
