This Week in Wesleyan Athletics

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Below is your preview of Wesleyan Athletics for the week of November 13-17.

Women's Basketball
The Kentucky Wesleyan women's basketball team plays their first game on the road this Wednesday, November 19, at 1:00 PM against Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville, Tennessee. The Panthers will then return home for another non-conference battle against Missouri – St. Louis on Friday, November 21, at 5:30 PM inside the Owensboro Sportscenter.

Wesleyan is coming off a 1-1 week to begin their campaign, falling to Missouri S&T before defeating Lincoln. Emma Bruwer was the star of the first two games, averaging 17 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.5 steals over 26.5 minutes per game thus far.

Men's Basketball
The Kentucky Wesleyan men's basketball team has two more non-conference home games inside the Sportscenter this week. First, the Panthers will host Saint Mary-of-the-Woods on Wednesday, November 19, at 7:00 PM before taking on Delta State on Saturday, November 22, at 12:30 PM.

Also coming off a 1-1 week, the Panthers opened their season with a win over Indianapolis before suffering defeat against #8 Missouri S&T. Wesleyan has had a balanced attack so far, as Armandas Plintauskas and Ke'Andre Jones each had 18 points in the opener before LaVonte Harris led the way versus the Miners with 17 points.

Wrestling
The Kentucky Wesleyan wrestling team next heads to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to grapple against the Davenport Panthers on Sunday, November 23.

Both Gavyn Uribes and Nolan McKelvy placed at the Drury Open last weekend, with Uribes finishing fourth in heavyweight and McKelvy finishing fifth while competing at 174 pounds.
