OWENSBORO, Ky. – Below is your preview of Wesleyan Athletics for the week of December 8-14.
Women's Basketball
The Kentucky Wesleyan women's basketball team returns to the Owensboro Sportscenter for two games this week. The Panthers will battle Ashland, who received votes in the latest WBCA Coaches Poll after beginning the season in the top ten, on Thursday at 5:30 PM. Wesleyan will follow with a matchup versus Tiffin on Saturday at 12:00 PM.
The Panthers went 1-1 last week, grinding out a 66-60 victory at Ohio Dominican before falling in Findlay. Riley Neal had a team-high 13 points in the triumph.
Men's Basketball
The Kentucky Wesleyan men's basketball team is looking to get back on track against Ashland (Thursday at 7:45 PM) and Tiffin (Saturday at 2:15 PM) this week.
Wesleyan has now lost three games in a row, including an 82-79 heartbreaker at Findlay last Saturday. On a positive note, LaVonte Harris continued his scorching-hot shooting with 19 points on 5-6 from outside the arc in that game. Jorge Sanchez-Ramos had his best outing as a Panther with 17 points and seven assists.
Wrestling
The Kentucky Wesleyan wrestling team next travels to Indianapolis, Indiana, to compete in the 46th edition of the Midwest Classic at Nicson Hall this weekend.
In last weekend's action, Nolan McKelvy was able to pick up a 3-2 comeback win at 174 pounds against Lake Erie.
