OWENSBORO, KY - The Kentucky Wesleyan Women's Golf Team wrapped up their 2023-24 season at the G-MAC Championships on Friday. Playing at the Pearl Club here in Owensboro, Wesleyan took ninth with rounds of 344-341-353, finishing with a total of 1,038 (+174).
#2 Findlay took home the team title with an 881 (+17), winning by 35 strokes. Findlay's Mary Kelly Mulcahy took home the individual title with a three-round score of 214 (-2).
This marks the final tournament for senior
Maddie Zimmerman, who has been a staple for the Panthers over the past four years. The Texas native has consistently been a top finisher for the Panthers, and has been a part of multiple school records. In this tournament, Zimmerman was the Panther's second finisher, shooting rounds of 84-87-86 to come through with a 257 (+41).
Leading the way for Wesleyan was
Megan Bryan, who went 87-77-84 to take 29th with a 248 (+32). Her second round 77 ties a career low for the junior.
Avery Shacklette was third on the team with a 268 (+52), while
Audrey Koetter was just one stroke behind her with a 269 (+53). Rounding it our for the Panthers was
Samantha DeSpain, who finished with a 275 (+59).
This Panther's team will go down as one of the most successful in KWC Women's Golf history, as they set the 54-hole school record this season.
