ST. LOUIS, MO - The Kentucky Wesleyan Women's Golf team was in Missouri this past weekend, competing in the UMSL Spring Invitational. They improved their scoring each day on the par 71 course, finishing with scores of 343-342-332 to take 15th with a 1,017 (+165).
UIndy took home the team title with an 871 (+19), while Findlay's Mary Kelly Mulcahy won medalist honors with a three round score of 210 (-3).
As has become a habit, senior
Maddie Zimmerman once again led the Panthers in scoring, going 86-82-82 to finish with a 250 (+37). Behind her was sophomore
Avery Shacklette, who really found her stride on the final day, going 91-85-80 to finish with a 256 (+43).
Megan Bryan was just two strokes behind Shacklette, going 83-89-86 to come through with a 258 (+45).
Audrey Koetter (261) and
Samantha DeSpain (268) rounded things out for Wesleyan.
Koetter was one of the stronger par 5 competitors in the field, as she finished with an even par average on those holes throughout the 54-hole tournament.
The Panthers don't have to travel far for their last tournament of the year, as the Pearl Club will play host to the G-MAC Golf Championships next week. The tournament starts on Thursday, April 25th and concludes the next day, Friday the 26th. For more information on the conference championships head to the
