BIG RAPIDS, MI - The Kentucky Wesleyan Women's Golf program continued their long weekend on Sunday and Monday, competing in the Lady Bulldog Fall Invite hosted by Ferris State. The Panthers finished in 10th, shooting a 709 (352-257) over the course of 36 holes.
Grand Valley State took the team championship with a 602 (310-292), while Wayne State's Inja Fric won the individual title with a 146 (+2).
The Panthers were extremely consistent, with all five athletes finishing within five strokes of each other.
Megan Bryan led the way for the Panthers, shooting two straight rounds of 88 to finish with a 176 (+32). Senior
Maddie Zimmerman was just behind Bryan, shooting two straight rounds of 89 for a 178 (+34).
Avery Shacklette shot a team-low 87 in the opening round and finished with a 180 (+36), while
Audrey Koetter and
Samantha DeSpain each came through with a 181 (+37).
The Panthers will have a few weeks off before competition ramps up again, as the will travel to Fairview Heights, Illinois, to take part in the Bearcat Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, October 16-17.
