CASEYVILLE, IL - The Kentucky Wesleyan men's golf program took fifth this week at the Bearcat Dual Gender, finishing with a score of 926 (+62).
Once again,
Tyler Nickol led the way for the Panthers. Nickol continued his strong junior campaign by shooting a 217 (+1) over three rounds, good for a tie for third. Second on the team was
Evan Beery, who's 229 (+13) put him in a tie for 18th.
Jonah Graham finished in a tie for 27th, shooting a 236 (+20).
Evan Schumacher tied for 35th with a 245 (+29), while
Ayden Gillilan shot a 250 (+34) to take 43rd. Competing as an individual, freshman
Harrison Sallee tied for 38th with a 247 (+31).Â
As a team, Kentucky Wesleyan led the entire field by notching five eagles, with
Tyler Nickol being the only golfer in the tournament to have two. Nickol finished with the second most birdies in the tournament, coming through with 13.Â
McKendree University took the team title with an 876 (+12), while Maryville's Brad Karpick shot a 215 (-1) to win medalist honors.Â
Kentucky Wesleyan will play their last event of the fall in two weeks when they host the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational. It will take place at the Pearl Club on Saturday, Oct. 29 - Sunday, Oct. 30.Â
