LEXINGTON, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's golf team finished sixth at the Asbury Invitational on Tuesday at Picadome Golf Course. The Panthers posted rounds of 361 and 375 while
Maddie Zimmerman carded two consistent rounds to finish 21
st overall.
The Panthers open play with a round of 361 to sit in fifth place overall.
Maddie Zimmerman carded an 86 in the opening round to sit in 13
th after 18 holes.
Samantha Yake shot 88 on day one while
Erin Sexsmith was one back with an 89.
The wind took hold on day two as scores went up. Zimmerman posted a round of 88 in the final round to move into 21
st overall. Yak carded a final round 91 and finished with a 36-hole total of 179 to record a 24
th place finish out of 46.
Sexsmith finished 31
st after posted a two-day total of 190.
Scout Pope was 34
th after rounds of 98 and 95. In total Wesleyan shot a final round 375 to place sixth overall. Lindsey Wilson College took the top team honors after rounds of 325 and 315.
The Panthers will host their own invitational on Friday and Saturday at The Pearl Club.
