OWENSBORO, KY - The Kentucky Wesleyan Women's Golf team improved their team score by one stroke in their final round and jumped Brescia to take fourth at their own invitational. The Panthers finished with a two-round (356-355) score of 711 (+135).
Maddie Zimmerman led the Panthers with a two-round score of 162 (+24), notching an 83 in the final round to secure her 16th place finish.
Megan Bryan shot a 179 (+35), using rounds of 86 and 93 to take 23rd.
Samantha DeSpain improved her day one score by seven strokes on Sunday, shooting scores of 94 and 87 to notch a final score of 181 (+37), good for 25th.
Erin Sexsmith rounded out the scoring for the Panthers, shooting rounds of 91 and 92 to come in 27th with a 183 (+39).Â
After being down by five strokes to Brescia on the first day, the Panthers defeated them by 12 strokes in the final round to move into fourth. Maryville won the event with a 640 (+64). Ssu Tung Lai of Maryville took medalist honors with a two-round (79-76) score of 155 (+11).Â
