CHESTERFIELD, Mo. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's bowling team returned to action this weekend, finishing 14th at the Columbia 300 Saints Invitational hosted by Maryville University. The Panthers went 7-6 on the weekend including a win over No. 20 Lincoln Memorial.
Wesleyan opened the tournament with a 950-845 win over No. 20 Lincoln Memorial before picking up two more wins over Tusculum and Augustana. The Panthers dropped a match to No. 11 Louisiana Tech before bouncing back with a win over North Central College to close out day one.
Day two started with a pair of wins over Aurora and Valparaiso. The Panthers suffered three losses to finish the day, all against nationally ranked teams in No. 18 Wisconsin Whitewater, No. 4 Arkansas State and No. 2 Sam Houston State.
The Panthers opened match play with a 4.5-3.5 loss to Lewis before bouncing back with a 4-3 win over Aurora. Wesleyan lost to Drury 4-0 to finish 14th.
Angelique McKeny placed 32nd individually with an average of 190.2 pins per game and a high of 233 pins. Alyssa Zombirt was right behind at 187.6 pins per game to place 35th.
Sam Bugno averaged 161.2 pins per game while Lauren Meagher posted a 192.25 average with a pair of games over 200.
The Panthers will travel to Louisville, Ky. this upcoming weekend to compete in the Morehead Classic on Sunday, February 2.
