GEORGETOWN, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's golf team continued its season at one of the biggest events of the Spring. The Panthers finished 23
rd at the Saginaw Valley Spring Invitational. Wesleyan fired two consistent rounds at Kearney Hill Golf Links.
Over sunny skies and in cold conditions the Panthers opened with a first round of 382, over twenty shots better than their most recent trip to Memphis.
Samantha Yake led Wesleyan in the opening round after shooting 90.
Kaelen Rice was closely behind with a 93.
Sunday brought slightly warmer temperatures, but the wind was causing problems over the wide-open Kearney Hills. Rice improved her day-one score by five shots with a final round of 88. Her two-day total of 181 placed in a tie for 112
th. The Panthers closed with a final round of 384.

Yake carded a final round of 94 to place 117
th overall. Rounding out the team scores were
Leslie Swafford who fired rounds of 97-102.
Scout Pope shot identical rounds of 102 to finish 124
th.
The University of Findlay won the team title with two rounds of 304. Sydni Harding from Northwood took medalist honors after carding a 36-hole total of three over par 147 (73-74).
The Panthers will be back on the road on Saturday, March 30
th at the Spring Fling hosted by Lewis University. The 54-hole event will be contested at Perry Park Golf Resort.
