OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College Department of Athletics is pleased to celebrate its Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees with a weekly spotlight. Today, Kentucky Wesleyan recognizes Glenn Young.
Young started at Wesleyan as a freshman in 1954 where he had begun his journey to being the "Voice of the Sportscenter". Panther basketball fans heard Young's voice for 58 years. For 29 years, Young had also been known as the "Voice of Panther Football" (1983-2011). In 2001 Young received the Kentucky Wesleyan Alumni Service Award, then in 2012 was given the Gus E. Paris Distinguished Service Award. For 19 years (1993-2012) Young was the Assistant Athletic Director at Wesleyan, at different points throughout those 19 years he had served as interim Athletic Director.
Young is a native of Owensboro where he still lives. He is a retired Principal and Assistant Super Intendant of Daviess County Schools.
