OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College Department of Athletics is pleased to celebrate its Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees with a weekly spotlight. Today, Kentucky Wesleyan recognizes Mary Pfeifer Brehm.
Brehm graduated from Wesleyan in 2000 and was a key component to the Panther tennis team for four years. Brehm is a four-time All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selection from 1996-99. Those four selections are the most in program-history.
Brehm built up an impressive resume which included 39 total wins, 28 of which were amongst GLVC competition. She had been the team's number one in both singles and doubles throughout her career.
A two-sport athlete, Brehm was also a member of the women's basketball team. (Pfeifer) Brehm saw action in 20 games through the 1996-97 season to 1997-98, averaging nearly 10 minutes per game and converting at 58% from the field.
A native of Owensboro, Brehm attended Owensboro Catholic. She now lives with her husband Ryan, a former Wesleyan football player, in Louisville where she is working at the University of Louisville Physicians Novak Center for Children's Health.
