OWENSBORO, Ky. – Evan Oakley has been named the G-MAC South Division Pitcher of the Week after his dominant outing last Friday. It's the second consecutive week Oakley has earned conference POTW honors.  

The Gilbertsville, Kentucky, native struck out a season-high 10 over 7.0 scoreless innings in Wesleyan's 8-1 victory over Southwest Baptist.

Oakley only allowed four hits over those seven innings and did not allow an extra-base hit for his second straight start. He has allowed just one run over his last 13.0 innings pitched.

On the season, the senior currently boasts a 2.04 ERA (second in the G-MAC among pitchers with multiple starts) and a conference-high 23 strikeouts over 17.2 innings pitched.

Oakley and the Panthers next host Purdue Northwest for a four-game series this weekend at Panther Park. Wesleyan's ace is scheduled to start game one on Friday at 12:00 PM. All games will be streamed live on FloCollege.
