OWENSBORO, Ky. – Liam Hutson has been named the G-MAC South Division Athlete of the Week after his stellar home-opening series versus Davis & Elkins last weekend.
In that four-game set, the sophomore went 7-14 with a double, two home runs, 10 RBIs, three walks, and six runs scored to lead the Panthers to a 3-1 weekend.
The center fielder launched a grand slam in Wesleyan's 20-4 victory in game three before going 5-5 and hitting the walk-off double in game four.
On the season, Hutson is batting .296 with eight hits, two home runs, 11 RBIs, 15 total bases, four walks, and a stolen base through KWC's first seven games. He currently leads the G-MAC in runs batted in and sits second in total bases.
Along with Hutson, starting pitcher Evan Oakley was named the G-MAC South Division Pitcher of the Week today.
Hutson and the Panthers are preparing for another home series this weekend versus Southwest Baptist at Panther Park. The first game of the three-game set will begin at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 19th, and all three games will be streamed live on FloCollege.
