OWENSBORO, Ky. – Before the Panthers even threw the first pitch of their season, the Kentucky Wesleyan softball team volunteered at The Salvation Army back in late January.
Members of the team helped put together meal kits, including making sandwiches and packing dinners. The Panthers then traveled to deliver those kits, along with hygiene products and pairs of socks, to families around the city of Owensboro. Collectively, the team delivered 150 meals to those families.
The entire softball team participated in the volunteer outing: Chloe Apple, Kennedy Matheis, Lauren Pellerito, Riley Cunningham, Abby Cunningham, Daleigh Cairns, Kami Parlin, Hannah Beasley, Bailey Markus, and Paige Crain.
The outing reflected Kentucky Wesleyan Athletics' continued commitment to service, leadership, and representing the college with purpose beyond the game.
