INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Liam Hutson has been named the G-MAC South Division Player of the Week for his play in the Panthers' series split versus Northwood last weekend.

Over those four games, Hutson went 7-15 with three home runs, five RBIs, and four runs scored. The redshirt sophomore also had several diving plays in center field to add to his stellar series at the plate.

Overall in 2026, Hutson is now batting .346 with one double, eight home runs, 25 RBIs, and 19 runs scored. He's additionally only had eight strikeouts in 22 games and has put the ball in play at an impressive rate.

His eight homers and 53 total bases both currently lead the Great Midwest. He's also tied for second in hits, third in RBIs, and sixth in runs scored.

It's the second time this season the Louisville, Kentucky, native has earned G-MAC Athlete of the Week honors. Hutson first earned the recognition back in February after a fantastic home-opening series versus Davis & Elkins.

The Kentucky Wesleyan baseball program is now up to five recipients of this award in 2026. Evan Oakley has earned the other three in addition to Hutson's two.

Hutson and the Panthers are next set to head to Findlay, Ohio, to take on the Oilers this weekend. The two teams will battle in a doubleheader on each of Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 PM live on FloCollege.
