Jackson Leads Men’s Golf to Second-Place Finish at Bill Crabtree Invitational

OWENSBORO, Ky. — Kentucky Wesleyan men's golf finished second at the Bill Crabtree Invitational on Sunday at The Pearl Club, led by a third-place finish from Cohen Jackson and a fourth-place finish from Ryan Loiars.

The Panthers' A team finished at 10-over par, 20 strokes behind tournament champion McKendree, who won at 10-under par. Young Harris' Samuel Ankelstam claimed individual medalist honors at 4-under par, followed by McKendree's Simon Meiby at 2-under par.

Jackson finished third at 1-under par after a strong performance across all three rounds. The junior opened with a 1-over-par round Saturday before carding a 1-under-par second round and another 1-under-par round Sunday. Jackson recorded seven birdies and a team-high 41 pars while remaining near the top of the individual leaderboard throughout the event.

Loiars, who shared the lead with Jackson with three holes left, finished just behind Jackson in fourth at even par. After opening with a 2-over-par round, Loiars responded with a 2-under-par second round before finishing even in Sunday's final round. He recorded one eagle and a team-high 10 birdies over the 54 holes. Following a difficult opening nine holes in the first round, which included six bogeys, Loiars turned his tournament around by recording just five bogeys over the final 45 holes.

Tanner Kight also delivered a strong finish for the Panthers, tying for eighth at 4-over par. After opening the tournament at 5-over par, Kight rebounded over the final two rounds with six birdies and just four bogeys to earn his best finish of the fall season.
Parker Deutschman added another top-10 finish for Kentucky Wesleyan, tying for 10th at 5-over par. Thomas Scott placed 19th at 10-over par, while Wille Carlsson tied for 26th at 12-over par. Kolby Crook tied for 29th at 13-over par, and Jonathan Kaminski tied for 37th at 14-over par.

Kentucky Wesleyan's B team finished eighth at 47-over par. RJ Farrell tied for 46th at 17-over par, while Kyle Hodoval and Garrett Haywood both tied for 51st at 20-over par. Andrew Noble tied for 57th at 22-over par, and Maddux O'Guinn finished 61st at 24-over par. Aidan Bartos placed 69th at 34-over par, while Kingston Lovelady finished 74th at 42-over par.

The Bill Crabtree Invitational concluded Kentucky Wesleyan's fall schedule. The Panthers will turn their attention to the spring season.
