Box Score PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer (0-7-3, 0-3-3 G-MAC) were left frustrated at Ursuline (2-6-1, 1-5-0 G-MAC) after a 2-0 loss to the Arrows Thursday afternoon. Ursuline finished with a 15-10 advantage in shots and held a 10-4 edge in shots on goal in their first win in conference play.
The Arrows struck early in the fourth minute through Samantha Youngs, giving the hosts a 1-0 advantage. Panthers goalkeeper
Abby Payne kept the Panthers within striking distance, making six saves in the opening half.
Kentucky Wesleyan created several opportunities, putting four shots on goal during the match.
Henna Gyan and
Marley Collins each had shots saved by Ursuline goalkeeper Laetitia Scheunemann, while
Haylie Panter recorded three total shots.
The Panthers continued to pressure Ursuline early in the second half, with Collins, Panter and
Haley Osborne each registering shots during the opening three minutes. Gyan later forced another save from Scheunemann in the 62nd minute.
Caleigh Meeks took over in goal for Kentucky Wesleyan to begin the second half and made two saves. Ursuline continued to generate chances but could not add to its lead until the 85th minute, when Fiona Rombach made it 2-0.
