Panthers Fall in Final Non-Conference Matchup

Owensboro, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer team fell 2-0 against Alabama-Huntsville in their final non-conference game of the season Sunday afternoon at Panther Field.

It was a defensive showdown in the first half, with neither team able to earn a goal before the break.

It didn't take long for the Chargers (2-1-1) to break the tie in the second half, netting a 49th-minute goal to take a 1-0 advantage.

UAH added another goal in the 82nd minute to effectively put the game away, with the Panthers unable to strike back.

The Chargers controlled the game all afternoon, leading in shots (19 to 8), shots on goal (8 to 2), and corners (6 to 4).

Haley Osborne and Steeley Walker were responsible for Wesleyan's two shots on goal in the match, and Marley Collins registered a team-high three shots.

The Panthers (0-3-1) begin conference play on Thursday, September 18, against Lake Erie on the road. Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM live on FloSports.
