Wesleyan Comes Up Short in High-Scoring Affair

Nashville, Tenn. – The Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer team fell to former G-MAC foe Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday night.

The Trojans (2-1) got off to a fast start, scoring the game's first goal in the ninth minute. Wesleyan responded just 10 minutes later with a penalty kick goal by Haley Osborne, tying the game 1-1.

KWC responded strongly coming out of the break after Trevecca took a 2-1 lead into the half. Deca Burr registered the first goal of her career in the 54th minute, knotting the game up once again at 2-2.

Trevecca's Anna Farrell didn't let the tie score last long, netting back-to-back goals in the 60th and 66th minutes to effectively solidify the win for the home team.

Osborne and Burr's goals were responsible for two of just three shots on goal for the Panthers, with Sierra Mullins tallying the third.

Wesleyan now looks toward their final non-conference game on Sunday, September 14. The Panthers will take on Alabama-Huntsville at 12:00 PM at Panther Field.
