Owensboro, Ky. – Evan Oakley has been named the G-MAC South Division Pitcher of the Week after his fantastic performance against Malone on April 3.

This is the second time Oakley has been named the G-MAC South Division Pitcher of the Week in the 2025 campaign.

In that game at Malone, Oakley shut out the Pioneers over 8.0 innings pitched, walking just one and allowing only five hits with eight strikeouts. It was the fifth time Oakley has gone at least 5.0 innings without allowing an earned run this season.

The righty is tied for the G-MAC lead with a 1.64 ERA and has pitched 16.1 more innings than his counterpart. His 49.1 innings and six wins this season are both first in the conference and his 64 strikeouts are good for third in the G-MAC.

This is also the fourth recognition for the Kentucky Wesleyan baseball program this season, with Isaac Rose and Jase Mizell being recognized earlier this year.

Overall, Kentucky Wesleyan Athletics has now had 16 G-MAC Athletes of the Week during the 2024-25 academic year.

Oakley and the Panthers are back on the diamond this weekend for a home series against Thomas More at Panther Park from April 12-13. First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader is set for 12:00 PM.
