INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Fatih Huyuk has been named the G-MAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for his play over the Panthers' two recent non-conference victories.
Huyuk began the week before the break with perhaps the best single-game performance by a Panther all season thus far. The Turkey native tallied a double-double with a career-high 28 points (14-21 shooting) on top of ten rebounds and five assists, both also team-highs, in the 87-81 victory over Illinois Springfield last Wednesday.
The big man followed that performance with another double-double in Wesleyan's 77-68 triumph over IU Southeast last Friday, totaling 12 points and 12 rebounds while adding three steals.
Huyuk joined last week's winner, Armandas Plintauskas, as the second consecutive honoree for the men's basketball program.
The Panthers return to the court after winter break, set to take on Cedarville on the road as G-MAC play continues. Tipoff is set for 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, and the game will be streamed live on FloCollege.
